Golden Rainbow is a non-profit organization founded in 1987. We provide housing and financial assistance to people living with HIV/AIDS in the Southern Nevada area.

Golden Rainbow is a grass roots organization, founded by members of the entertainment industry who saw the need to provide housing for people with HIV/AIDS when one of their own was forced to live and die in a garage. Entertainers, doing what they do best, put together their first show to raise money for this worthwhile cause. That first show was called “Golden Rainbow” and premiered July 11, 1987, in the Ziegfeld Theatre at Bally’s. Since then the show’s name has been changed to ‘Ribbon of Life” and has become the largest HIV/AIDS fundraiser in Nevada.

Golden Rainbow has a dedicated volunteer Board of Directors, only two paid employees, and is dedicated to providing effective, efficient, quality service. Currently the organization owns two four-plexes and a three-bedroom home. This provides low cost shelter to adults and families with children living with HIV/AIDS. Golden Rainbow is also able to provide emergency financial assistance in the form of payments for medications, rent, utilities, insurance co-payments, and any other assistance not currently provided by another agency. This is all done by the funds raised with the “Ribbon of Life” show, select government funds, corporate sponsorships, foundation grants, private donations, other creative fundraising strategies, and a wealth of hundreds of volunteers.
